Create A Necklace With A Broken Clip

One of my absolute favorite hobbies is making jewelry, and re-purposing odds and ends for necklaces is something I feel passionate about. When my sparkly hair clip broke a couple of years ago, I saved it because I knew one day I would be able to incorporate it into my jewelry making. Recently, I started going through my beads after a jewelry making hiatus, and I discovered a few vintage beads that I had bought at a garage sale in the 1980s. I remembered the man was so tired of the boy my mom was babysitting and I hanging out around the garage sale, so he ended up giving me the entire collection of beads for about two dollars. Some of these vintage beads I incorporated into other pieces, such as the heart pendants. Take a look at the pictures below to see how I created this beautiful necklace by re-purposing a broken sparkly clip, and turning it into a pendant.

The dark silver and light silver beads I am adding to this necklace are fake glass and acrylic pearls, but I love the way these beads look.  Also, I am using small glass cylinder shaped beads in the pattern for my necklace, and I will place one in between each fake pearl.  I am excited because I rediscovered this stash of beads recently, which I have had since 1993!  It feels good to go through all crafting supplies and finally get around to using the things that have been in storage for awhile.  As I mentioned above the large aqua beads are vintage, but I am not sure about exactly how old these are because I bought these at a garage sale back in the 1980's. 

Continue the pattern of one dark silver fake pearl, one small glass cylinder bead, and one light silver fake pearl up both sides of the necklace.  Take a look at the pictures below to see the necklace to shape.
