Spring Flowers And The View of The San Bernardino Mountains

Spring flowers are always a spectacular up in the San Bernardino Mountains. Whether these be wild flowers you see on a nature walk or flowers people plant in their front yard, it is a promise you will see many beautiful flowers blooming in late April up in the San Bernardino Mountains. The higher elevations of Southern California are one of the few places in this part of the state where you can experience the four seasons, so often flower bulbs such as tulips and daffodils do not bloom until April. During unusually warm winters the daffodils and tulips have been known to open up as early as late February, but usually, the flowers wait until late March or April. Even if you do not get a chance to see flowers up in the San Bernardino Mountains, the views are highly recommended for those who enjoy the beauty of nature. For instance, who could pass up a scenic nature walk with views of Mount Baldy and The Pinnacles in the distance? The more adventurous types might even be tempted to go for a hike to the top of The Pinnacles.

So how do you get to the San Bernardino Mountains if you are craving a nature walk? To get from Los Angeles to Lake Arrowhead, take the 10 East Freeway for about fifty miles until you reach San Bernardino, California. Exit on Waterman Avenue and take this all the way up to Highway 18, which leads up to the San Bernardino Mountains. Use Google Maps of Mapquest to get precise directions from your location. You can even use Google Maps to plot your public transit route to the San Bernardino Mountains from Los Angeles, which is perfect for pedestrians who prefer not to drive.

In late April there are many spring flowers in bloom up in the San Bernardino Mountains. These bulbs are not indigenous to the region, but many people plant these in their front yards.

Taking pictures of spring flowers in late April is quite enjoyable, but I also like to walk around and take pictures of the mountain views.

Photographs of spring flowers are lovely to behold, but there is nothing more mesmerizing than watching a video of tulips lightly swaying back and forth in the breeze.

Walking around the San Bernardino Mountains will reward the pedestrian with magnificent views of the mountains and the flowers in bloom.

The bark beetles and recent fires have cleared much of the forest on the backside of the San Bernardino Mountains, which can be seen in the video below.

I highly recommend purchasing a camera that allows you take both pictures and videos, which will come in handy when you go on picturesque strolls in locales such as the San Bernardino Mountains.
