Look At The View From The Inland Valley

Traveling around in the Inland Valley after the snow has fallen on the local mountains is quite picturesque. The contrast between palm trees in the Inland Valley below and the snowy San Bernardino Mountains above makes for many ideal photo opportunities. Going for a walk gives me the luxury and freedom of looking at the trees in our urban forest, and mountains around me. Also, I can take pictures of angles people do not see when they are zooming by in their cars. Photography is also the inspiration for many of my art projects, and the day after it snowed in the mountains I was looking for a new reference photograph for future sketches.

If you ever want to see the true beauty of your hometown, then it is essential that you go on walks every week. Not only is walking good for the health, but it is stimulating for the imagination. One can almost meditate as they concentrate on scenery during a walk. Unlike pricey gyms, walking around your town does not cost a penny. If your doctor is suggesting you get more active, then why not take that advice by doing a bit of low impact walking. If you enjoy photography, then walks around your town will give you more opportunities to practice this craft.

There are many sights to see on a walk here in Southern California, and all you need to do is put on your shoes and take your camera with you. People always dream of seeing California palm trees when they are on vacation, but I think a lot of residents of Southern California take these for granted. Why not go for a stroll and gaze upon some beautiful palm trees? Since Southern California has so many bright days throughout the year, people walking outside should wear hats to protect their faces from the sun.

Near the evening the mountains begin to take on a purplish tinge. When I think of the song God Bless America and purple mountains majesty, I envision the San Bernardino Mountains in the twilight of the day.

The sunset is my favorite time to walk in Southern California because I enjoy looking at the vibrant sky, and the silhouette of the mountains and the trees against it. The cajon pass looks mesmerizing around sunset since the sun is setting right behind this region. So what is your favorite locale to walk during twilight?
