San Bernardino Mountains Photography

Photography in the San Bernardino Mountains is a pleasure for me as I go for nature walks along the streets and trails. Even the streets in Lake Arrowhead can be quite foresty, and if you travel off the hillside you are smack dab in the San Bernardino National Forest. The thing I loved about growing up in the mountains was hanging off the side of a cliff, and plunging down a hillside was quite normal. While kids in the city played in well manicured parks with lights that eliminated everything at night, us mountain children plunged deep into the forest - with delight and anticipation. Actually there was nothing scary about jaunting into the woods on your own to play down by the creek, resting your head against a magnificent cedar tree as your arms and legs basked in the sun. In those days I knew no fear of the forest, which was long before my encounter with the bear that ran just twenty feet in front of me.

Sitting on a boulder near a creek in the San Bernardino Mountains can be quite contemplative.  Who needs to take a yoga class when you can take a nature walk in the mountains!

Photographing The Sunset

One of the most extraordinary things I ever photographed in the San Bernardino Mountains is the sunset. I love taking my camera with me on nature walks because I never know what I might capture at the spur of the moment.

Sunsets Are Inspiring!

Sunsets are inspiring because often the pictures I take of these in the San Bernardino Mountains become my reference photographs for sketches. Even if I do not create a drawing based on a sunset photograph, I still enjoy looking at the pictures that showcase the beauty of nature.

Silhouette of The Trees At Sunset

The silhouette created by the trees at sunset is one of my favorite things to photograph in the San Bernardino Mountains.

The setting sun creates a beautiful silhouette with the outline of the oak and pine trees.

Outlines of The Mountains At Sunset

I love to see the black outlines of the mountains against the brilliant colors of the sunsets in the San Bernardino Mountains.  These are simply delightful to photograph, and sketch if you feel the urge!

A proper digital camera with a high megapixel resolution is a must have for anyone who wants to take beautiful pictures in the San Bernardino Mountains, or in any other scenic locale. You might even want to consider purchasing a camera that allows you to take picture stills and video clips, so you can capture moving footage of those breath taking sunsets.

Oh my goodness SweetiePie, these are beautiful shots. Living this close to the beauty of the mountains, I should have done this already. After seeing your pics I am determined to visit the area.
