Clouds Floating Over The Inland Valley
If you ever travel through the San Bernardino Valley, then you will discover we often get heavy rain storms that bring in amazing cloud formations. I took a walk on the east end of the San Bernardino Valley to photograph the beauty of the cloud formations. Photographing palm trees, eucalyptus trees, power poles with the clouds in the background was quite amazing. Also, I enjoyed looking at the snow on top of the San Bernardino Mountains, which were hard to see because of all of the clouds. Traveling to the San Bernardino Valley is quite easy as it is about eighty miles east of Los Angeles, and you can take the Metrolink if driving is not your cup of tea. When you do visit the San Bernardino Valley I highly recommend booking a hotel in the Redlands/Loma Linda area, which is not as developed as the rest of the valley. There are beautiful architecture and natural landscapes you can photograph in this area if you enjoy taking pictures as I do. Also, try to spend a few days up in the San Bernardino Mountains if you want more of a nature experience on your trip to Southern California.
Map of The San Bernardino Valley
The San Bernardino Valley ranges from Rancho Cucamonga in the west to Yucaipa in the east, with the San Bernardino Mountains creating this valley.
Taking a walk around the San Bernardino Valley is the perfect way to see many of the beautiful vistas and sights. Bring your camera along on your walk, and take pictures of anything that captures your eye. Today I took numerous pictures of the billowy clouds above the San Bernardino Valley, which were quite aesthetically pleasing.
During my early morning walk this morning I was quite awestruck by the beauty of the clouds, which I just had to photograph of course.
During my walk it was hard to see the San Bernardino Mountains because of the thick cloud cover. Nevertheless, I was able to take pictures of the amazing clouds with the snow covered mountains peeking through the gaps.
As I was taking pictures, I also made a few videos of the clouds above the San Bernardino Mountains. This was quite a spectacular view to see below in the San Bernardino Valley.
As I continued my walk, I was headed for a location up on a hill that would allow me to have an unobstructed view of the mountains. The clouds were covering the view of the mountains on my walk the other day even when I did reach the top of the hill, but at least I could see a bit more. However, the pictures I took at the lower elevation had to be edited with photo software to cut out a lot of the clutter. By the way, one thing I love about digital photography is the ability to edit pictures at our luxury. I must say auto-fix is one of my favorite features, and always enhances my photos.
I also enjoy taking pictures of the orange trees up close. There is still a large orange fields here in the San Bernardino Valley, but many of these have been cut down to make way for urbanization. Orange County was named for the great number of orange fields that once occupied that region.
As I continued on my walk, I took many more pictures of grand palm trees, and the stunning clouds in the sky.
I like to capture telephone poles in many of my photographs because these often have interesting shapes
One of my favorite pictures I took on my walk was a closeup of my two favorite little palm trees. There is something quite soothing about looking at a pair of palm trees standing together next to a field, with verdant hills in the distance. So remember to take a walk the next time you are in the San Bernardino Valley, and take your camera along to capture interesting photos.
