Making Glittery Christmas Cards

The Christmas season is all about glittering colors, and you can express your love for all things glitter by designing your own simple glittery Christmas cards. At the store many of the Christmas cards have simple pictures and text, and you can make these yourself with a package of blank cards and some glitter glue. In the photo gallery below I will share the various glitter glue cards I made over the last few days.

The two cards above illustrate how fun and festive simple Christmas glitter cards can be.

The first glittery Christmas card I created is a simple card with cursive text.

I purchased the pre-folded the cards, but you can always just fold card stock in half to make your card.

In the photo above I traced around "Merry" with red glitter paint.

My experiment with using tipped glitter glue has taught me this is not as easy to control when tracing over cursive letters. If you want glittery cursive letters on your card, I would recommend purchasing sparkle gel pens. However, you can stick with the traditional glitter glue, which is cheaper and can be found at the dollar store.

I used the gold glitter glue to finish tracing over the "Christmas" part of the message on the front of the card. After I applied the glitter glue to the card, I allowed it to dry overnight. I noticed it was still a bit tacky the next day, so I suggest allowing amble time for drying if you are going to use glitter glue to decorate your cards. However, if you use the glitter gel pens, then you do not have to wait for your cards to dry overnight.

Write the words "Merry Christmas" in printed text on the front of the card. It is easier to trace over printed text with glitter glue, as long as the letters are on the larger side.

Above I traced around the "Merry" printed text with the sparkly glitter glue.

I used the gold toned glitter glue to etch over the word "Christmas".

I wrote the text Merry Christmas in large print manuscript on the front of the card.

I traced over the silver letters with the glitter glue of this hue.

Gold glitter glue was used to frost over the word "Christmas".

On the front of the card I wrote "Merry Christmas" with red and grey markers.

I used a red marker to write Merry, and then I traced over it with red glitter paint to make the text more vibrant.

I traced over the silver "Christmas" with the same color of glitter glue.

The picture above is of my favorite glitter Christmas card that I created with silver and red glitter glue. For this card I created a tree accent, and used glitter glue to make Christmas balls for it.
