Wood Burning Palm Trees On A Jewelry Rack
Wood burning is a crafty way to decorate any piece of plain wood. This jewelry rack decoration idea was inspired by my exasperation over rummaging through jewelry boxes to retrieve all of my necklaces, so I wanted a simple and aesthetically pleasing way to store my baubles. First, I drew the palm trees on the coat rack, which has a Hawaiian theme. However, this jewelry rack could also have a California theme since this is also a state with many palms. I adore everything about Polynesia and the South Pacific, so the Hawaiian palm tree jewelry rack will match well with the décor in my room. Rather than use the pyrography patterns that come with a wood burning kit I prefer to draw my own directly on the wood. One thing about wood burning is that the smoldering wood can be very smelly, so use proper ventilation when using the wood burning stylus. Look at the photos below to see how I created the palm tree inspired jewelry rack.
When wood burning I like to create three dimensional designs along the edges of the wood rather than just embellish the front of the piece.
