How To Woodburn Palm Trees On A Coat Rack: Part Two

By SweetiePie

This is part two of a two part series on how to wood burn palm trees on a coat rack, which will be used to house necklaces and bracelets. If you missed part one of this series, then you read about how to wood burn palm trees on a coat rack: part one. This coat rack idea was inspired by my exasperation over rummaging through jewelry boxes to retrieve all of my necklaces, so I wanted to find a simplistic and aesthetically pleasing way to store my baubles. In part one of this tutorial series I drew the palm trees on the coat rack, which have a Hawaiian theme, but it also could have a California theme if you wish. I love everything about Polynesia and the South Pacific, so the Hawaiian themed coat rack, which is being converted into a jewelry rack will match well with the decor in my room. Rather than use the pyrography patterns that come with a wood burning kit I prefer to draw my own directly on the wood. One thing about wood burning is that the smoldering wood can be very smelly, so use proper ventilation when using the wood burning stylus. Take a gander at the photos below to see how I created the palm tree inspired jewelry rack.

I created this free pyrography pattern by first drawing the palm trees on the jewelry rack. Here I am beginning to smolder the image of the palm trees into the wood.

The line movements used to wood burn on this first tree create a sticker like effect. This tree almost looks like a sticker I placed directly on the wood. Waynet pointed that out to me when he commented on my YouTube video.
