During the winter months summer seems very far away, which makes enjoying pictures of garden flowers taken in August all the more alluring. In July and August I highly recommend taking pictures of your flowers, which you will be able to enjoy for the rest of the year. Actually, now that it is almost Christmas, a digital camera would make the perfect gift for that family member who enjoys photographing flowers, and other scenery. One of my most favorite gifts from my childhood is when I was given my first camera at the age of seven. Back then developing film meant I could not always afford to take as many pictures as I would have liked, especially since I could have spent several hundred dollars doing that. The invention of the digital camera is probably my most favorite invention, after the computer.

Only a grumpy person would not be a bit more delighted when looking a pictures of beautiful garden flowers. I have always loved hollyhocks as these propagated themselves easily in the San Bernardino Mountains, and I spent many summers frolicking through a thick bed of these flowers. Hollyhocks require little water and are extremely drought resistant flower.

Walking around the garden allows you to enjoy many different types and shades of flowers. Just sitting out in the garden and reading a book, and having your camera nearby, so you can take pictures when the mood strikes. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to sit in a garden and luxuriate, as I take pictures whenever I feel like it. Since many of my photographs inspire my drawings, having a camera is always a pleasant way to spend my time.

Clusters of daisies are beautiful things to admire in a garden. I love gardens where there are flowers mixed in with the vegetable patches. It gives the garden a bit more of a natural look, rather than just being rigidly defined.

There are many exciting hues of flowers you can plant in your summer garden, ranging from the orange to vermilion hues of marigolds, to the light purple petals of the demure African daisies.

@mljdgulley354,

I think all the pictures did not load for you because you have a slower connection. All the pictures loaded fine for me on a DSL connection. Sometimes you just have to give the page a minute to load, especially with picture galleries that have more photos. Thanks for your comments!

Hi Movie Master,

The hollyhocks are very beautiful to look at. I hear these grow well in England, so maybe you could plant a few.

Hi Beata,

I appreciate the wonderful way you put things.

You are a superb photgrapher. You should put them as photalbum on Lulu ebook. It cost nothing.
