A Photographic Walk Around The San Bernardino Mountains
74Gazing out the window early morning in the San Beranrdino Mountains is the perfect time to look for the interesting shadows caste by the trees, mountains, and canyons. This is my favorite part of the day, just before everyone gets up. There is nothing more alluring that enjoying the San Bernardino Mountains at sunrise. Many a morning I love to look out the window, and see the shadow play created by the boulders on the Pinnacles. Truly, this is an amazing sight, and I feel refreshed every time I am able to experience it. One morning in late November, I went outside to take a nature walk. When I took a picture I enjoyed how the light shining on old wooden power pole blends in with the golden colors of the leaves on the oak trees this time of year. This makes a nice contrast with the verdant pine tree on the left-hand side of the photograph.
As I walk along in the San Bernardino Mountains, I am delighted as the vistas that can be seen from the backside of my mountain. The view of Mount Baldy is quite spectacular, and worth seeing each morning as I stroll up the mountain roads.
As I walk up street, I enjoy looking down the hillside to view the patches of snow that have not melted after the recent snowstorm in late November. These trees have served as inspiration for many of my sketches over the years.
I especially like this picture from the early morning when the moon was visible in the bright blue sky. It looks quite impressive when viewed with the golden leaves on the oak trees.
Walking around the mountain roads can be quite a different experience from the hub bub one experiences in the city. When you cross the street in San Bernardino, California you have to wait for the traffic light, but up in the San Bernardino Mountains there are no lights or sidewalks.
As a child I learned to walk on the side of the road to prevent being hit, but often you can walk for twenty minutes or so without seeing any vehicles, as I did the morning I took this photo. I love the green and golden colors that come into play this late autumn afternoon during my walk. The hardy manzanita bush can be seen in the bottom right hand corner of the photograph.
Moonlit walks and hikes are always a delight, and I especially love to take pictures of this luminous satellite.
Taking walks and photographing the moon can be quite meditative. As I have said before, who needs to take a yoga class when you can go for a nature walk, but I still would like to learn a bit more yoga!
Talking a walk at sunset is the perfect opportunity for capturing amazing pictures in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Purchasing a digital camera that can record video and take pictures is a necessity for anyone who likes to take nature walks. Here you can enjoy a few of the nature videos I have taken during my visits to the San Bernardino Mountains.

As you may have noticed, I especially love to create videos of the stunning sunsets up in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Here are some videos I made of the view of the Pinnacles, which are boulder laden hills on the backside of the San Bernardino Mountains.

It's a beautiful place.. indeed.. :-)
what an interesting hub... keep it up
I really like this Hub. The pictures are terrific. Nice work!
You have some great photos... kind of funny because it felt like I was looking out my backyard. Granted, I don't live up in the mountains - so I don't have the snow - but I do have them all around my house. The sight is just beautiful in southern California. On the other hand, maybe we will see some snow on Saturday - they are forcasting it! :)
A very interesting hub with great pictures
